Non-Violent Movie #2

What a marvelously exciting time in our lives. A time of the unknown, but you can just feel greatness around the bend. What Bashar calls “looking for the 13th floor”. Well I’m smack-dab in the middle of all that and I was on the site I decided to see what the number one, highest rated movie of all time for them was….. And it was Man on Wire.
Man on Wire is a 2008 documentary film directed by James Marsh. The film chronicles Philippe Petit‘s 1974 high-wire walk between the Twin Towers of New York’s World Trade Center and is based on Philippe Petit’s book, To Reach the Clouds.
Philippe Petit- Walks the World Trade CenterAhhh synchronicity. What you need when you need it. The movie depicts the series of coincidences that allowed him to accomplish his dream. A prime example that shows us that we are here for the experiences, and we create our own realities. When they asked him why he did it, he said “there is no why. Isn’t the joy, the beauty, the sheer magnificence enough of a reason?” The fact that he was able to have such a crazy dream, and never loose site of it, then somehow convince others to help him, and then finally to accomplish it and survive and bring the joy and the sheer wonder of it all to so many; well, sometimes the medium IS the message.

Like I said, its received a 100% rating on, meaning every critic in the world liked it, and it also got an 8.2 out of 10 on The question is, why have you not seen this movie? And what you get from it is,… well this quote from the movie by Philippe says it all:

” To me it is so simple, that life should be lived on the edge of life. You have to exercise rebellion. To refuse to taper yourself to rules, to refuse your own success, to refuse to repeat yourself, to see every day, every year every idea as a true challenge, and then you are going to live your life on the tight rope. “
